Lizbeth Lindley, Financial Advisor
Huntington, NY
Lizbeth Lindley loved her work as a foreign exchange trader on Wall Street, but the hours made it hard to be present for the life she was building at home.
“I was on the 5:48am train and didn’t get home until about 7:00pm,” she recalls. “When I had my first baby, I only got about 90 minutes with her in a day before she went to bed.”
As her family grew, the gap between the career she excelled in and the life she wanted became clearer. When she became pregnant with her second child, Lizbeth decided not to go back to Wall Street and started interviewing with other firms. With 15 years of experience, an MBA and strong demand for women in the industry, she had many options. Ultimately, she chose Edward Jones, because it offered what mattered most at that moment – flexibility, balance and a culture where she could thrive without sacrificing her career.
“I chose to come to Edward Jones to be more present in my life with my children. My 90 minutes with my first child expanded to two hours in the morning and three hours after work,” she said.
Lizbeth was drawn to the sense of independence she found at Edward Jones. The firm offered the flexibility and choice she was looking for as she stepped into a new chapter.
“I didn’t want my future dictated by a branch manager,” she said. “I’m an adult. I knew I needed to put in the work, but I wanted to choose how and when to do that.”
Flexibility continued to be a driving force as her career evolved. Her children are now grown, but the ability to set her schedule and build a practice around the rhythm of her life remains meaningful.
“I’m at a point in my life where my contemporaries are talking about retiring because they are waiting to start their lives. With the purpose of my work, my compensation and my flexibility, I’m just hitting my stride,” she said.
Today, Lizbeth runs a thriving practice and was named to the 2026 Forbes Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-in-State list*.
