At Edward Jones, our financial advisors are our sole profit center. This means everyone — more than 9,500 associates at our headquarters — does their job with a single-minded focus on your success. They provide the support and tools you’ll need to help clients achieve their financial goals.

Investment Advisory Services – This team is responsible for our advisory programs:

  • Advisory Solutions® – A firm discretionary program that aligns client accounts to IPC guidance creating a comprehensive approach to investment management, including asset allocation, professional investment selection, dynamic threshold rebalancing, detailed performance reporting and tax-efficient management in our UMA models.
    • Fund Model– Mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.
    • UMA Model– Mutual funds, exchange-traded fund and/or separately managed accounts (professionally managed individual stocks and bonds).
  • Guided Solutions® – A client-directed advisory program where financial advisors work with clients to build a portfolio that is aligned within the Investment Policy Committee (IPC) guidance. Guided Solutions is appropriate for clients who want to retain the final decision-making over the investments in their portfolio. Clients can choose from two options:
    • Flex– Mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and stocks. Individual bonds and CDs available for accounts of $50,000 or more.
    • Fund– Mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.
  • Financial Advisor Managed Solutions™* – Designed for investors who prefer to leave the day-to-day investing decisions to their financial advisor. Clients work with their financial advisor to identify their risk tolerance, time horizon and goals. The client and financial advisor will then work together to select an Account Portfolio Objective. Following the firm’s investment philosophy and guidance, the financial advisor will then build a portfolio for the client’s unique situation and make ongoing adjustments to help keep the client on track to meet their financial goals.
    • Financial Advisor Managed Solutions – Mutual funds, exchange traded funds, and stocks. Individual bonds and CDs available for accounts of $50,000 or more.

Research – Our Equity Research team provides stock recommendations and market information and identifies quality investment opportunities. The team typically follows about 300 companies and provides advice and guidance with thorough reports and interactive tools to help financial advisors build diversified portfolios with stocks.

Edward Jones Wealth & Trust Management Services – Edward Jones financial advisors are the primary point of contact for clients using Edward Jones Trust Company®** services. This continuity of service, along with the support of a dedicated home office team, represents a major competitive advantage over other firms. The Trust Company adheres to the same focus of serving the needs of long-term investors and is equipped to handle some of our clients’ most complex or unique wealth management needs.

Client Consultation Group (CCG) – Our Client Consultation Group (CCG) is a team of professionals within the home office that specializes in the needs of high-net-worth clients. CCG can serve as a sounding board for your ideas and help build on current strategies already in place; however, the client relationships and assets never leave your branch. CCG can provide guidance and insight from other professionals, such as CPAs and attorneys.

Leadership opportunities

Our unique Client Support Team business model puts every Edward Jones financial advisor in a leadership role — in your branch and in your community. Strong leadership supports growth — of your practice and you — and builds client confidence. As you are running a successful practice, you may choose to take part in optional leadership and support roles that help your region and the firm grow. You might volunteer to mentor a new financial advisor. Test a new technology in your branch. Or lead the way in incorporating goals-based advice in your practice. All are optional — and ready when you are.

Training that meets you where you are — and takes you where you want to go

When you join Edward Jones, you hit the ground running — and so does our training. We level up our training to complement your experience, knowledge and production level. Starting with an orientation course to quickly get you up to speed on our unique business model and long-term investment philosophy. Teaching you our systems, tools and technology. And helping you build your practice with in-depth business planning customized to the needs of you and your practice.

Limited Experience – General Securities Representative License [SIE + Series7 + Series 66 (or a combination of an active Series 63 & 65 licenses)] with less than six months client-facing experience and limited business development experience

Over the course of several weeks, you’ll spend time participating in virtual instructor-led, online and field training where you will have the opportunity to learn, apply and reflect on your progress with your peers.

This training will help you develop a better understanding of:

  • The securities business
  • Our firm’s philosophy
  • Our business model
  • Client needs
  • Key investments

You’ll also participate in an introduction to Edward Jones technology and information systems.

Following this initial training, you’ll spend an additional week in St. Louis. The determination of which training process best suits you will ultimately be based on your individual qualifications, background and experience.

Moderate Experience – General Securities Representative License [SIE + Series 7 + Series 66 (or a combination of an active Series 63 & 65 licenses)] with at least six months client-facing experience

You’ll spend one week participating in virtual instructor-led training. This training will help you develop a deeper understanding of:

  • The securities business
  • Our firm’s philosophy
  • Our business model
  • Client needs
  • Key investments
  • Systems
  • Product offerings

You’ll also participate in an introduction to Edward Jones technology and information systems.

Next, you’ll spend five weeks training in your target location, followed by one week in St. Louis.

During your initial training period, you’ll have the ability to place orders and will be given ample time to contact, serve and transfer your existing clients to your Edward Jones business.

Considerable Experience – 3+ years, trailing 12-month gross production of $250,000 or more and over $30 million in assets under care

You will be required to attend an accelerated orientation course in St. Louis. This course teaches you about the Edward Jones business model and investment philosophy as well as providing compliance and systems training.

*Available to eligible financial advisors.
