Robyn Jensen, Financial Advisor
Hackettstown, New Jersey

When Robyn Jensen, a former English teacher, began exploring a career change, she considered many options. It was her mother’s advice that led her to the perfect fit. Jensen’s mother, Sue Anderson, was an Edward Jones financial advisor and knew her daughter could thrive at the firm.

“My mom kept telling me I would be good at this, but I was good with words and felt intimidated by working in finance,” said Jensen. “A lot of women don’t consider this field because they think it is all about numbers, but it is really more about helping people. I really wanted a career where I could make a difference in people’s lives. I have found that at Edward Jones.”

Sue Anderson’s own journey began as a branch office administrator. With encouragement and mentorship, she transitioned into a financial advisor role—an opportunity that transformed her career.

“The firm provided my mother with opportunities and growth that she might not have had otherwise,” recalls Jensen. “I saw her transform into a leader at Edward Jones.”

Inspired by her mother’s success, Jensen joined Edward Jones in 2005. Today, she helps clients reach their financial goals through a thriving practice in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

Her story is now part of a legacy. Recently, Jensen’s daughter, Erin Madonna, became a third-generation female financial advisor with the firm.

“I’m not sure I would have considered this career if it weren’t for my mother’s example. Same for my daughter; she saw me build my business from the ground up,” said Jensen.

Mentorship and support have been central to Jensen’s success. When building her practice, she leaned on fellow financial advisors and allies in her area. As a private partnership, Edward Jones fosters collaboration—not competition.

“My colleagues helped me get a good start and believed in me,” said Jensen. “I wasn’t competing with the office next door and that made for a healthy work environment.”

Flexibility was equally important. As a mother and stepmother of six children, Jensen valued her short 20-minute commute and the ability to set her own hours. That autonomy allowed her to build her practice her way—and she’s encouraged her daughter to do the same.

“There is no glass ceiling here. I work hard, and there’s never been any limit on what I can achieve. I don’t think there are many places like that.
